Polyethylene Glycol
The reaction can be catalyzed by an acid or an alkaline. Ethylene glycol and ethylene glycol polymer are preferred as raw materials instead of water because they allow the formation of polymers with low dispersion (exclusive molecular weight distribution). The length of the polymer chain depends on the ratio of the reactants.
