Ammonium bisfluoride is also used as an additive in tin and nickel plating processes where the fluoride ion acts as a complex agent with the tin allowing greater control over the resulting composition and finish.
Description
Ammonium difluoride is a medium used in the production of hydrofluoric acid from hexafluorosilicate. Thus, aqueous hexafluorosilicate acid decomposes to give ammonium fluoride that thermally decomposes to give bifluoride.
