Diluted Manganese
Manganese is Versatile. Using Manganese as an element of alloy manufacturing is one of its most important uses, particularly in the form of Ferromanganese alloy in the manufacture of stainless steel. When adding Manganese to alloy, it improves durability, workability and wear resistance. Manganese compounds are versatile as Manganese dioxide is a powerful oxidant so it is a component of alkaline batteries. They are also used in manufacture of glass, porcelain and ceramics.
Manganese is a chemical element. Its chemical formula is Mn, and its atomic number is 25. It belongs to d sublevel elements and locates in the upper part of the seventh group of the periodic table. It is chemically categorized as a transition metal.
Manganese is a porous solid metal with silver gray color. In nature, It mainly exists in many metals (it mainly combines with iron). Johann Gottlieb Jan was one of the pioneers who discovered this element. He was able to isolate Manganese in its free form by reducing Carbon Monoxide (coal), there is a relation between using Carbon Monoxide, Manganese and magnetite (black iron oxide).
