Quaternary Ammonium Chloride
The compound is used in organic synthesis as a methylating agent and in some cases as a precipitating agent. It is used in small concentrations in polymerase chain reaction to increase yield and quality as it has been shown to improve yield approximately 5-10-fold at 60 mm via AT base pair binding.
