Sodium Aluminate is prepared by adding excess sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) to metallic aluminum or aluminum hydroxide. Sodium Aluminate is versatile as it is used in soap making and water treatment to overcome hardness. It is used to fast the reinforced concrete hardness, and it is used in dye ponds in which the dye alizarin is used.
